Ok, so Borderlands was the breakout first-person shooter role-playing game of 2009. And I can tell you from personal experience that it was definitely worth playing – again, and again, and again. You get the picture. Now, almost exactly 3 years later, Gearbox is releasing Borderlands 2 on September 18, 2012.
The wife and I attended Pax East this year and the line to get into the Borderlands 2 exhibit was perpetually 2 hours long. I couldn’t stomach standing around that long for a woefully short play test, but I did take some pictures – check it!

So, what do we know about Borderlands 2? There are 4 new playable characters, but the 4 old ones supposedly have cameo appearances in the game. All of the core mechanics that you loved in Borderlands will be back, but with improvements. A short list would include greater weapon customization, 4-player vehicles, and enhanced enemy AI.
All in all, this one is on my must-have list. I’ll see you online.
